Remarkable F2.0 large-aperture telephoto lens. It is equivalent to 300mm on a 35mm camera. With compressed effect and soft out-of-focus images in front of and behind the clearly defined main subject, this telephoto lens is a great choice for portrait, sports scene and wildlife and nature shooting.
Special optical glass elements, such as an ED lens and a Super ED lens provide the highest image quality with optimal resolution and contrast.

Great Lens, July, 21 2010
by Alan Kreutzer
I rented this lens for a trip to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone National Park. I was able to grab details from the peaks of the Tetons that I hadn't been able to before. I also took some great shots of the falls in Yellowstone, the color and depth were spectacular. The rental process with ProPhoto is so easy, I've recommended them to all of my friends.

It doesn't get much better than this. The Olympus Super High Grade lenses are superb - I have used the 7-14, and 35-100, and 150 - and compared to the High Grade lenses there is a huge difference. Among the Super High Grade lenses, the 150 is the king in terms of optical quality - the best among the best. Sharper than the 35-100, than the 50 macro. No distortion, beautiful blur, excellent color. Perfect for portraits (which is what I rented it for) and for available light shots (testing the lens, chased a rabbit around with just street lights and got some good shots). Very compact and light for what it is. Built better than any other Olympus lens I have used.

Rented this specifically for Fourth of July firework celebration, but due to bad weather it couldnt be used for fireworks. I had also planned trip to a local zoo as well as waterfowl center specifically to use the lens there while I had it. Folks are simply amazed by the photos and I plan to rent this or the 300mm lens for our beach vacation next year as well since there is lots of wildlife there.
BEST ADVISE...use tripod. I had a 2.0x teleconverter I used in conjunction with the 150mm lens and if you cannot hold the camera 100% still, you will not get the top professional sharpness you might really want or expect. I'm talking about being able to see individual feathers quality too.
Loved the lens and will definitely rent again.
