The F2.8-3.5 brightness of this wide zoom lens is really attractive. This high-performance lens covers the zoom range of 22-44mm on a 35mm camera, and the closest focusing distance is 28cm in the entire zoom area. It can create desirable tension in your photographs through the effect of exaggerated perspective.
Two glass aspherical lens elements give high image quality with high-resolution and good contrast.

Perfect Street Lens, March, 2 2008

I've been planning to purchase this lens for quite a while, but decided to try it out first, and boy was I impressed. I do a lot of street photography and this lens is just perfect for it, it gives you a fantastic wide-angle view for close-up candids and at f2.8 is fast enough for low light, real-world scenes. The build quality is top notch, the focus and zoom are both super smooth and precise, and the image quality is tack-sharp, ahead of many wide angles in this category. Only caveat is that if you're looking to do serious landscape or architectural work, you're going to need to save up for the 7-14, because even at 11mm it's just not wide enough to cover every situation. At any rate, I'm going to be buying the 11-22 as soon as I have the cash!
