Blackmagic Design does it again with their stunning Pocket Cinema Camera 6K. This little guy has some pretty incredible specs: a super 35 sensor with 6144 x 3456 video at 50 fps, 13 stops of dynamic range, dual-native 400/3200 ISO, 120 fps in full HD, and the ability to shoot Apple ProRes 422 or Blackmagic RAW (BRAW). The Canon EF mount is a massive benefit, allowing you to select from dozens and dozens of cinema and photo lenses. Power is supplied via an LP-E6 battery or a plug-in A/C adapter (which can charge the battery at the same time).
They've always been known for incredible color, and this model is no different. You can get exactly the look you're going for, with plenty of headroom to adjust highlights, shadows, and color intensity. In addition, the dual-native ISO keeps noise to an absolute minimum.
There's a massive 5" monitor built in to the back of the camera, with handy touchscreen controls and a simple-to-use operating system that we wish other camera manufacturers would copy. You can record internally to SD or CFast 2.0 cards. But if you really want the ultimate in memory, rent one of our Samsung T5 SSD drives (listed below in "Related Items") and record to them via the USB-C port. In 6K RAW, this thing will fill up a 256GB card in 8 minutes, so be sure to plan accordingly!
For audio, the BMPCC has a 3.5mm input jack as well as a mini-XLR with +48V available. If you just need scratch audio, the camera has four (!) built-in mics to make for easy syncing in post. Speaking of sync, you can connect an external timecode generator via the 3.5mm audio jack to automatically sync all of your cameras in Resolve 16.1.
