This focal length is a favorite among our real estate and architecture clients, as well as for landscape vistas. That being said, the minimum focus distance is 11" throughout the zoom range, which makes for some pretty amazing compositions for all different kinds of photo and video use.
As with any of Sony's GM lenses, you can expect incredible image quality due to the latest optical formulations and lens coatings. It's truly an amazing wide and fast zoom.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The front element on this lens is incredibly bulbous and sticks way out there, practically begging to be scratched. Please keep the lens cap on at all times unless you're actually shooting.
